"En väldigt värdig inblick i Göteborg 2008 och ett måste för alla som är det minsta intresserade vad som händer i den svenska underjorden överhuvudtaget just nu." "This new compilation is an absolutely crucial document of the current scene." The 'Gothenburg 08' cd has also gotten some radioplay already. It was played on London's Resonance FM, as part of the Sound Projector show, and on Swedish national radio in Eldorado, P2 last week. Both programs are available for streaming online. 2008.04.23 | Coming soon: Gothenburg 08 Coming on Fang Bomb in a couple of weeks - the 'Gothenburg 08' compilation cd! And this is the reason why: In 1984, Gothenburg, Sweden based record label/gallery/publishing house/artist breeding ground Radium 226.05 released 'Gothenburg 84', a now legendary compilation LP. 'Gothenburg 84' documents an unusually creative period in Gothenburg. The LP featured artists such as CM von Hausswolff, Freddie Wadling, Zbigniew Karkowski and Jean-Louis Huhta, all then upcoming talents - now regarded as pioneers. Now, in 2008, Gothenburg's eletronic and experimental scene is again soaring with talent, and it is time again to document a unique era. This is what 'Gothenburg 08' sets out to do. And this is the tracklist: Viktor Sjöberg & Jonas Lindgren - 'Guldheden' More things coming up this year: Wolfgang Müller (of Die Tödliche Doris) has joined forces with an impressive list of wellknowns for a book+7" release for Fang Bomb, that will be released in a couple of months. It's something quite unique. We are also planning CD releases with Jasper TX and Ronnie Sundin, and we are currently sorting out the final details for the first ever LP release (actually, LP+7") from Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words, the wonderful "Lost In Reflections", to be released before summer - co-released by Fang Bomb, Release The Bats, iDEAL Recordings and When Skies Are Grey. 2008.04.04 | Soundofmusic vs Et Op La Bang Another kind review of I Am A Vowel's 'Et Op La Bang' spotted! This time in Swedish only, courtesy of the excellent online zine Soundofmusic. Read the review in its entirety at the 'Et Op La Bang' page. 2008.03.29 | Lost At Sea There is a kind, new review of I Am A Vowel's ' Et Op La Bang' over at Lost At Sea. Here's a short excerpt: 'Whereas most drone artists tend to make their music thick, layered, and, well, droning, Larguier opts for a more pitched and clicky sound, where sharp cuts bounce peacefully up and down atop a base layer of more traditional drone-like white noise. The immediate results, especially when coupled with the notion of what Et Op La Bang exactly is, makes for a fascinating listen, where every slow (we are talking drone here after all) twist and turn offers something new for hungry ears to feast on.' 2008.02.24 | Hilda Online gallery Hilda Magazine features two artists of interest to the Fang Bomb fan base this week. Firstly, there’s Nelly Larguier, a person we know better as I Am a Vowel. Her section features a track from ‘Et Op La Bang’ and a written text. Secondly, there’s Wolfgang Müller, with a selection of mainly Die Tödliche Doris related songs and videos. 2008.02.16 | Play My Tape Play My Tape is an excellent resource that lets a new artist put together a mixtape every week, which makes it one of the best ways to learn about new and interesting music. You should all head over there right now, because for this week's podcast Gothenburg (SE) based sound artist Jasper TX has mixed together some of his favorite songs. He starts off with a track from I Am A Vowel's 'Et Op La Bang', and continues with Xela, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Wolves in the Throne Room and others. 2008.02.07 | I Am A Vowel on the radio Don't miss the c-l-a-s-s-i-c Swedish national radio show Eldorado tonight! The program will start off with a couple of songs from I Am A Vowel's 'Et Op La Bang' album. You can hear the show either by being in Sweden and locating P2 on your FM receiver at 10:30 PM, or by listening to the webcast from here. The broadcast will be available for streaming from the Eldorado site for the next 30 days. 2008.01.28 | Dotshop.se I Am A Vowel's 'Et Op La Bang' is now available for purchase from Dotshop.se. They will also be distributing our releases to shops throughout Scandinavia and the baltic states. And while you are at it, check out our own brand new shop section right here, where 'Et Op La Bang' and our other releases are selling like hotcakes as we speak. 2008.01.14 | I Am a Vowel - 'Et Op La Bang' 'Et Op La Bang' by I Am a Vowel is out now. And it is great too! I Am a Vowel is Nelly Larguier from Paris, France. 'Et Op La Bang' is her debut album, the perfect pop-drone composition created from the sounds of her voice and the sounds of stones, which were combined through the magic of modern computer science. This, from Norman Records, might be the best description of the record so far: '[...] a CD of dark dubby ambience & minimal space techno for electro mice. There's a bit that sounds like a mongoloid fly trapped in a griswald & spongetwat flange-ometer. Then a processed vocal snippet surrounds your conscious state, obviously designed to make you stab your neighbours cat in the head with a garden hoe. This is music for people obsessed with the tortured echoes of moths trapped in abandoned piping in a dank cellar under a motorway bypass at 3 in the morning. Wibbling glitchy tap drip bad hallucinogenic woodlice-tronica.' 2008.01.12 | New site This is our new site. We like it a lot more than the old one. This one even has a shop section, with reasonable prices for all international orders. So go ahead, give us your money. 2008.01.01 | Best of 2007 These are just some of our favorites from the past year: Alva Noto - 'Xerrox Vol. 1' (Raster-Noton) 2007.06.06 | New review in The Wire The Wire finally came around and reviewed Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words/Ronie Sundins "Fuglesang, Astronaut", some six months after take-off. There are a few small misunderstandings included, but it is still nice. Read it here. 2007.03.01 | Be our friend We've joined the rest of the living universe on MySpace. You will our little corner of that big place by clicking politely, right here. The Ronnie Sundin and Dead Letters Spell Out dead Words "Fuglesang, Astronaut"7" vinyl single is still smoking hot. Almost as hot is the bonus download, the Fuglesang tribute hymn "In Glorious Strength, Fuglesang the Conqueror" created in collaboration with a certain rather secretive, Stockholm based composer/orchestrator. 2006.12.03 | Fuglesang, Astronaut Christer Fuglesang is the first swedish astronaut and within a few days he will also be the 1000th person to leave earth. Fuglesang participates in NASA's STS-116 mission, set to visit the International Space Station in December this year. We celebrate this modern day hero with our new release, Fuglesang, Astronaut (FB002), a 7" split between Ronnie Sundin and Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words, to be released on the day of the launch, December 7th. More information here. 2006.11.24 | Trouble with tribbles So... Our next, still somewhat secret, space related release is set for release December 7th. But today we received a call from the Danish border police. They have apparently arrested the person hired to carry the records from Germany to Sweden today. And with him, they got the records. And with them, maybe, our time plan. Crap.
